From the Publisher
This issue of Focus on Calculus introduces three new teaching tools that dramatically add to your repertoire of electronic resources for calculus. Calculus Live, takes a giant step toward realizing the potential of "electronic books" by offering not just the flexibility of electronic hypertext, but also integrating real Mathematica-based tools for student use. Wiley Web Tests for Calculus, created at the University of Nebrask, apply the unlimited access and interactivity of the Web to skill building in calculus. Users of any of the new Wiley calculus texts (copyright 1998 and 1999) are eligible for a free site license for this innovative new software. ODE Architect, can add modeling and simulation tools to the ODE part of your calculus course (as well as your DE course). As publisher, Wiley is proud to support these new initiatives and encourages you to contact your local representative for more information about them. Conference News and Congratulations Wiley will be co-sponsoring the International Conference on the Teaching of Mathematics in Greece this July in lieu of its annual conference. Please join us in congratulating last year's program chairman, Ken Millett, who received the AMS's Award for Distinguished Public Service, and to Deborah Hughes Hallett, who won the AWM's Louise Hay Award for Contributions to Mathematics Education at the recent AMS conference.
