Maria de Lourdes Centeno is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at ISEG - Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão. She received her Ph.D at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, with the thesis Some Theoretical Aspects of Combining Proportional and Non-Proportional Reinsurance Treaties. Her actuarial interests include reinsurance, credibility theory, bonus systems and ruin theory, areas where she has conducted research at CEMAPRE (Research Centre for Mathematics Applied to Forecasting and Economic Decision). She is associate editor of the journal Insurance: Mathematics and Economics.
